Register Verifone Device (REGVFNDVC)

The REGVFNDVC command can be used to register a Verifone device from a green screen. It will facilitate the authentication and registration of the POS and device, and create a corresponding record in VFNDVC.

Parameters

Target Device ID (DEVICEID)

This is a required parameter.

Specify the unique ID to be given to the newly registered device in VFNDVC.

Possible Values:

character-value

Unique ID for the device

Target Device Hostname (DEVICEHOST)

This is a required parameter.

The IP address for the device to be registered.

Possible Values:

character-value

The IP address for the target device

Entry Code (ENTRYCODE)

This is a required parameter.

When registering a device using the REG1 process, specifies the four-digit entry code that must be entered on the payment device.

Possible Values:

numeric-value

A four-digit number from 0001 to 9999

Device Model (MODEL)

This is a required parameter.

Indicates the model number of the device.

Device Description (DESC)

Specify a recognizable description for the device - for example, “Store 215, Lane 12”.

Possible Values:

character-value

The description text for the device

Primary Port (PRIMARY)

Override the default primary port for the device.

The default value of this field is 5015.

Possible Values:

numeric-value

The port number to be used, from 1 to 65535

Secondary Port (SECONDARY)

Override the default secondary port for the device.

The default value of this field is 5016.

Possible Values:

numeric-value

The port number to be used, from 1 to 65535

Connection Timeout (CONNTMOUT)

The connection timeout, in seconds.

The default value of this field is 10 seconds.

Possible Values:

numeric-value

The number of seconds to wait before timing out, from 1 to 999

Read Timeout (READTMOUT)

The read timeout, in seconds.

The default value of this field is 10 seconds.

Possible Values:

numeric-value

The number of seconds to wait before timing out, from 1 to 999

Write Timeout (WRITETMOUT)

The write timeout, in seconds.

The default value of this field is 10 seconds.

Possible Values:

numeric-value

The number of seconds to wait before timing out, from 1 to 999

Request Log File (REQLOG)

Specify a file name or absolute path for the request log file. This value will have no effect if logging is disabled.

Possible Values:

character-value

The file name or fully-qualified file path for the request log file

Response Log File (RSPLOG)

Specify a file name or absolute path for the response log file. This value will have no effect if logging is disabled.
